Thank you for considering volunteer opportunities for the Portage Invitational.
The Portage Invitational is expected to draw 6,000 runners and their families this year and it would not be possible without YOU! Scroll down to see volunteer descriptions and sign up.
You will be a part of a large crew of volunteers who are placed along the course to look out for the safety of runners, ensure spectators are not impeding the course for runners, and to monitor the race overall. You are able to bring a chair for your shift. This is a great spot for parents who want to see their student run!
Early birds, this one is for you! The Glory Days 5K is an open race for the community that is the first race of the day. Volunteering with the Glory Days means you will help with sign ups, provide people who signed up their shirts, and direct runners to the start line. You will also shift quickly to the finish line to distribute medals to the first 50 runners.
Setup takes place the Friday morning before the race. During setup we cover various tasks like picking up and delivering flowers to Portage West, prepping awards, hanging banners, signage, and more. Plus, all volunteers are invited to join us for breakfast Friday morning!
You'll help runners clear the finish line quickly, provide them with water, and keep the area clean while supporting them at the end of their race.
Join fellow volunteers to hand out medals and awards to top finishers! This role is fast-paced and rewarding, requiring teamwork, organization, and focus.
In this role, you'll monitor recycling and trash bins, ensuring the grounds stay clean. It might not sound glamorous, but it's a flexible position that lets you catch your student's race at any time!
Join Gazelle Sports staff and fellow volunteers to help sell shirts. You'll be hustling to grab sizes and keep up with the fast pace—perfect if you love a lively environment!
