The 2024 Portage Invitational Student-Athlete Scholarship

It is the mission of the Portage Cross Country Invitational to promote youth running.

To enhance our mission, we offer a scholarship program to senior athletes in hopes that it will encourage them to continue to develop as a runner and help prepare in the education necessary for all aspects of life.

How to Apply

To be considered for the 2024 scholarship program, please submit your response to the following essay:

In 500 words or less, explain how you have used your experience in XC to give back: give examples of what you have done and intend to do whether through coaching, organizing community, mentoring younger athletes/teammates, or any other form of engagement.

ALL ESSAYS MUST HAVE A COVER PAGE CONTAINING:

Athlete's Name, Email Address, Phone Number, Home Address, School Name, School Address
Coach’s Name, Coach’s Email and Coach’s Phone Number
Reference's Name, Reference's Email and Phone Number

Applications missing any of the elements listed above, including a cover page, will not be considered.

ALL ESSAYS MUST BE SUBMITTED IN PDF FORMAT CONTAINING THE COVER PAGE AND ESSAY RESPONSE AND SENT VIA EMAIL TO portageinvitational@gmail.com.

DUE DATE: All Scholarship Entries must be received no later than Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 11:59pm.

Final recipients will be notified the week before the Portage Invite and will be awarded their scholarship on the awards stage at the 2024 Portage Invitational.

Please note: all submissions will automatically be considered for the Open Scholarship. There will be one recipient for each category, and no single recipient will receive two scholarships.
